The new Employment Regulation Order was signed into law by Alan Dillon T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment following the receipt of proposals of the Security Industry Joint Labour Committee which were adopted by the Labour Court.

From the 22 July 2025, the minimum rate of pay for security guards will increase from €14.50 to €15.41 per hour. The national statutory minimum wage rate is currently €13.50 per hour.
