Licensing of Suppliers or Installers of Safes

The PSA have announced that, with effect from 30 May 2025, contractors providing security services as a Supplier of Safes or as an Installer of Safes will require a PSA Licence.

Security Industry ERO

A new Employment Regulation Order (ERO) for the security industry came into effect on the 22 July 2025. From the 22 July 2025, the minimum rate of pay for security guards will increase from €14.50 to €15.41 per hour.

The Private Security Authority is receiving a higher number of applications at this time as 2025 is a renewal year for a large number of our licence holders. This has resulted in a higher volume of phone calls being received by the PSA.
